Giostra del saracino in Arezzo
What is it: The Saracen Joust is the mainly historical event in the city of Arezzo. The tournament takes place twice yearly: on the second to last saturday of june, by night, and the first sunday of september in the afternoon. The four town quarters parade in medieval costums and fight in Piazza Grande in a horse joust to conquer the trophy called "Lancia d'Oro".

The "Palio di Siena"
What is it: The Palio di Siena is a horse race that is held twice each year, on 2 July and 16 August, in Siena, Italy. Ten horses and riders, bareback and dressed in the appropriate colours, represent ten of the seventeen contrade, or city wards, in the horse race in the most beautiful square of the city, named Piazza del Campo.
